Legendary musician Stu Cook, renowned as the bass guitarist for the iconic band Creedence Clearwater Revival, has parted ways with his stunning waterfront property in Florida. The 80-year-old artist sold the Sarasota home for $7.5 million, a notable drop from the original price tag of $9.97 million when it first hit the market last year.

The new owner of this exquisite residence is Myron Robbins, associated with Buffalo Management Group. Property records reveal that Cook and his wife, Diana, initially purchased the home in 2013 for $2.95 million. The property had most recently been listed at $7.87 million before the sale.

Creedence Clearwater Revival, hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, achieved fame with their politically charged anthems during the Vietnam era. Hits like “Bad Moon Rising,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain,” and “Down on the Corner” captured the spirit of the time, although the band is also remembered for its tumultuous split.

The house, located at 3638 San Remo Terrace, sits close to the picturesque Siesta Key. Originally crafted by architect Carl Abbott, a notable figure in the Sarasota School of Architecture, the home was constructed in 2002 and underwent significant renovations in 2016, enhancing its allure.

At 4,559 square feet, the four-bedroom, 4.5-bath modern residence sits on a third of an acre.

A travertine walkway leads to a Zen garden — and, from there, glass double doors open into the home.

Visitors are greeted by a large great room with glass walls and pocket sliding doors that lead to stunning water views. Design details include white oak floors and a marble fireplace, along with a papier-mâché chandelier.

There’s also a chef’s kitchen that comes with custom cabinetry. In addition, a sliding countertop section hides an induction cooktop or sink when it’s not in use.

A staircase with glass rails, as well as an elevator, leads upstairs to a main bedroom suite on the second floor. It features a sitting area and sliding doors that open to a terrace, while a sliding wood wall adds even more privacy.

There’s also a gym.

Outside, the home boasts a travertine pool deck, covered and open seating areas, a boat dock with a lift, and a pool with a spa.

The listing broker was Joel Schemmel, of Douglas Elliman; the buyer’s broker was Adnan Dedic, of Compass.
