Cubs fan dragged out of stadium in handcuffs in crazy playoff scene

A disruptive Cubs fan was escorted out of American Family Field midway through the Brewers’ 9-3 victory in Game 1 of the NLDS on Saturday, handcuffed by the authorities.

Video posted by a fan in the stands nearby in the incident shows a brawl break out at the field-level seats along the third base line.

A video circulating on social media begins with stadium security managing an apparently separate situation in an adjacent section, then shifts focus to showing police, security personnel, and bystanders taking down the unruly fan.

Though unconfirmed, a fan in the crowd can be heard shouting, “he just punched a kid,” amid all the chaos.

Separate video later shows the fan shouting obscenities at the crowd while being escorted out in handcuffs by two police officers.

It remains unclear what exactly sparked the incident, and what punishments the crazed fan is facing.

The game on Saturday was heavily tilted in favor of the Brewers right from the beginning, as they scored six runs in the first inning against Chicago starter Matthew Boyd.

Boyd, 34, admitted that he made some mistakes in his start — which lasted just ⅔ innings — but insisted that he would always want to have that opportunity of starting a playoff game.

“You always want the ball. You always want the opportunity,” Boyd told reporters following the game. “But they came out with a plan today and I made a few mistakes early.”

The team insists that they will shake off the blowout loss, with Cubs second baseman Nico Horner saying that the players feel confident going forward.

“The task remains the same,” Hoerner said. “And the group’s confidence is incredibly high, even though today isn’t what we wanted.”

“The beauty of this time of year is one loss counts as one loss,” Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson added.
