Cullman’s Roy Drinkard, Oldest Living U.S. Marine, Celebrates 105th Birthday

Congressman Aderholt honors 105-year-old Marine veteran Roy Drinkard with a Capitol flag tribute.

CULLMAN, Ala. — Congressman Robert Aderholt celebrated the 105th birthday of Roy Drinkard from Cullman, Alabama, the oldest living U.S. Marine, on Friday with a special tribute in recognition of his service and leadership.

“Caroline and I are honored to stand beside Mr. Roy Drinkard’s family and friends today to honor a veteran who bravely served in World War II as a United States Marine,” said Congressman Aderholt. “At 105 years old, Mr. Roy Drinkard continues to show what it means to live with courage, commitment, and purpose.”

The Cullman community gathered to celebrate Drinkard’s remarkable life, honoring his service to the nation and his contributions to the local community. Drinkard, a successful businessman and civic leader, has played a vital role in shaping Cullman for generations.

In a special gesture of recognition, Congressman Aderholt had a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol in Drinkard’s honor, and a tribute was entered into the Congressional Record. 

The Cullman Postmaster presented him with a unique set of U.S. Marine Corps stamps, a tribute to a true American hero.

Family, friends, and community members shared in the celebration of Drinkard’s inspiring life, showing gratitude for his decades of service, leadership, and dedication to the community.
