Daniel Craig has explained why he rolled up to the 2025 Golden Globes without his leading lady.

The actor, 56, who got nominated for his role in “Queer,” showed up alone on the red carpet at the awards event on Sunday night. This led fans to wonder why his wife Rachel Weisz was not by his side.

Responding to a question from Extra about whether Weisz, 54, was “accompanying you tonight,” the James Bond star replied, “She’s not here, she’s busy getting our little one settled back in school.”

The duo, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York in 2011, are parents to 6-year-old daughter Grace.

Besides being dad to daughter Ella, 32, from his previous marriage to Fiona Loudon, Craig is also a stepfather to Weisz’s 17-year-old son, Henry, from her former relationship with Darren Aronofsky.

For the occasion, the British actor opted for a black velvet double-breasted suit atop a crisp white shirt and a a black tie.

He teamed the dapper look with a pair of black patent leather shoes and tinted clear-framed glasses.

At the ceremony, Craig lost out on an award in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture category to Adrien Brody, who emerged victorious for his role in “The Brutalist.”

It was Craig’s third Golden Globe nod, having been previously nominated for Best Actor in a musical or comedy nominations in 2020 and 2023 for his role as Benoit Blanc in “Knives Out” and “Glass Onion.”

As for his home life, Craig and his wife like to keep their private life out of the spotlight.

Still, the “No Time To Die” actor recently shared some insight into how he strikes the perfect work-life balance, telling the New York Times in Nov. 2024, “I’ve got a six-year-old at home. And I don’t want to be away from home as much as I have been in the past.”

Weisz, for her part, spoke about the couple’s home life in an April 2023 interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“Daniel and our daughter have been watching ‘Star Wars,’” she said at the time. “It was like a father-daughter, kind of, bonding experience, and they started on the original ones.”

The “Mummy” actress added that her daughter began asking her to Google things at one point, including “What does Darth Vader look like under his mask?”

“She wants to know everything,” Weisz said. “She’s obsessed with the mythology and these characters are so real for her.”
