Korean star Kim Sae-ron was found dead in her home on Sunday. She was 24.

According to the Korean Herald, the “Bloodhounds” actress’s body was discovered in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, by a friend who had plans to meet with her.

Local police are investigating the cause of Sae-ron’s death and have not seen any signs of a break-in.

“We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” a police official reportedly said.

Sae-ron started her acting career as a child in 2009.

She rose to fame with her roles in the 2010 film “The Man from Nowhere” and the 2012 movie “The Neighbor.”

Sae-ron recently starred in the popular 2023 Netflix movie “Bloodhounds.” The film follows the journey of two young boxers who unite with a moneylender to bring down a loan shark preying on the underprivileged.

Unfortunately, Sae-ron’s professional life faced a setback when she got involved in a car accident in Gangnam District, Seoul, in May 2022. The incident involved collisions with trees, guard rails, and a transformer, and it was later revealed that she was driving under the influence.

After the accident, the “A Girl at My Door” star issued a hand-written apology online, writing that she “made a big mistake while drinking.”

Reflecting on the events, she took to Instagram to express her remorse, acknowledging the repercussions of her actions on various individuals, including merchants, residents, and those involved in the restoration efforts. She admitted her failure to exercise caution and responsibility, issuing a heartfelt apology.

“Once again, we deeply apologize and apologize for causing concern. There is no excuse for this unfortunate incident. I am disappointed and very ashamed of the mistakes I have made.”

The following year, Sae-ron was fined 20 million won ($13,874.82) for the incident.
