A structural collapse occurred at a private home on South Ponte Vedra Boulevard, and authorities are currently investigating the cause.
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A deck collapse on Sunday led to multiple injuries, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Fire Rescue teams were dispatched around 12:30 p.m. to a residence in the 2400 block of South Ponte Vedra Boulevard. Upon their arrival, they discovered that a two-story deck had given way.
Given the extent of the injuries reported, St. Johns County Fire Rescue initiated a “Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident” response.
Fire Rescue reported that eight individuals were taken to medical facilities following the incident. Two of them required transport to a trauma center, while the remaining six were taken to a nearby hospital. As of the latest updates, all injured parties are in stable condition.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
