Deion Sanders stunned by Titans' GM firing with son Shedeur looming as potential top NFL draft pick

The top spot in the NFL draft this April in Green Bay, Wisconsin belongs to the Titans. However, General Manager Ran Carthon will not be the one making the pick, which surprised some people.

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders expressed surprise at the news in a post on X on Tuesday morning.

“WOW!” he wrote on the platform along with the bulging eyes emoji.

Sanders’ reaction is noteworthy with many viewing his son, Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders, as a possible first-overall pick this year.

There have been rumors that a former Pro Football Hall of Famer, who is now a college coach, may try to influence where a player named Shedeur gets drafted. Despite these rumors, he has recently dismissed them.

That is also believed to be the case with fellow Buffaloes star Travis Hunter.

During a March appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast he seemed to hint at that.

In March, Sanders expressed his thoughts on where he wants Shedeur and Hunter to end up in the draft. He mentioned that there are certain cities he prefers they avoid, hinting at a situation similar to Eli Manning’s draft placement.

Sanders has been active on social media commenting on the NFL offseason happenings.

He reacted to a report that the Jets had interviewed Louis Riddick for their vacant general manager job and also reacted with a “100” emoji to a post by the Jets that they had completed their interview with Rex Ryan for their head coaching position.

The Titans locked up the No. 1 overall pick in the draft after finishing a league-worst 3-14 this season.

Carthon was fired after two seasons at the helm of the organization with the team never having made the postseason under his watch.
