Aaron Phypers appeared notably cheerful as he left custody after posting bond following his arrest on charges of spousal abuse. The estranged husband of Denise Richards was photographed smiling broadly beside a California bondswoman on Friday evening, a snapshot published by TMZ.

For his appearance, Phypers opted for a casual yet polished look, donning a light blue button-down shirt neatly tucked into dark jeans, complemented by a sleek black suit jacket. This attire seemed to reflect a sense of composure despite the serious charges he faces.

The 53-year-old found himself in legal trouble during a court session in Los Angeles, where he was arrested amid the turbulent proceedings of his ongoing divorce from Richards. The courtroom drama escalated as witnesses reported hearing Phypers loudly arguing with sheriffs while on an escalator, as he attempted to retrieve his cell phone and other belongings after the arrest.

Phypers, 53, was arrested on spousal abuse charges in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday amid his contentious divorce from Richards.

Witnesses told Fox News that Phypers was heard shouting and arguing with sheriffs while on an escalator as they returned to the court to retrieve his cell phone and belongings.

Hours later, he bailed himself out of the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station after satisfying his $200,000 bond.

Richards was previously granted a temporary restraining order against her ex in July after claiming Phypers once gave her a black eye during an argument.

At the time, Phypers denied Richards’ abuse allegations as a source alleged Richards gave herself the injury while drinking.

“This is consistent with the ongoing untruthfulness of Denise Richards, who is trying to hide her alcohol problem,” the insider claimed to the Daily Mail.

“That photo was taken in winter 2022, and the fact is she was drunk at the time and fell coming up the steps to Aaron’s [since-closed holistic medical] clinic, Q360.”

Now, the “Wild Things” star is looking to make her restraining order against her ex a permanent one.

Earlier this month, Richards, 54, testified that Phypers became violent with her on multiple occasions.

In a harrowing testimony, Richards told the Los Angeles Superior Court that Phypers had given her “at least three concussions” during their relationship, according to People.

In addition to an incident on Jan. 17, 2022 that resulted in her black eye, she also alleged that Phypers “slammed [her] up against the concrete wall and [her] head hit it.” in a second incident that occurred sometime between March to May 2022.

Phypers hit back at Richards’ claims during their restraining order hearing last Wednesday, telling his attorney that “yes,” it’s safe to say Richards “bruises easily,”

The former Quantum360 owner — who previously accused Richards of abusing painkillers and alcohol — further testified that he had no recollection of the black eye. Though, he did remember Richards being “bruised” around the eye at that time.

“She would bruise her arms, all sorts of stuff. She’d bruise herself while cooking … falling down,” he testified, adding that he witnessed Richards getting injured “often.”
