(KRON) — The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said a trio of repeat retail thieves was arrested after being caught in the act hiding stolen merchandise and trying to walk out of a T.J. Maxx store. Deputies dubbed the suspects as “The T.J. Maxx Trio.”
Deputies did not clarify the exact timeframe of the incident which happened at T.J. Maxx & Homegoods, located on the 1800 block of Hillsdale Avenue in San Jose.
The sheriff’s office said detectives from its Retail Theft Task Force trailed the suspects to their van where they soon uncovered trash bags packed with almost $7,000 worth of stolen goods. Deputies said the merchandise was reported as being stolen earlier in the day from T.J. Maxx and a Marshalls store.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said the three suspects, all from Vallejo, were taken into custody and booked into the Main Jail Complex in San Jose. Deputies said one member of the trio had an outstanding out-of-country arrest warrant for retail theft.
In the post on Facebook, the sheriff’s office wrote, “Message for thieves: We’re watching.”
