Police stated that the crash was initiated when a black Honda sedan, traveling east on Addison Street, ran a red light and collided with a white Toyota SUV positioned southbound on Western Avenue.

The force of the collision caused the Toyota SUV to overturn and crash into a light pole. Simultaneously, the Honda sedan lost control, subsequently striking a black Toyota sedan that was headed north on Western Avenue.

The 21-year-old driver of the Honda sedan, along with two passengers—a woman and a 22-year-old man—were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, all suffering from head injuries.

The Toyota SUV’s driver, a 57-year-old man, and his passenger, a 37-year-old man, were hospitalized in fair condition. Both suffered cuts to the head.

The Toyota sedan’s driver, a 41-year-old woman, was hospitalized for evaluation.

Citations are pending, and CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.

CPD did not immediately provide further information about the crash.
