The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed on Thursday that five undocumented immigrants, each previously convicted of violent crimes such as manslaughter, child sexual assault, and carjacking, have been apprehended.
The arrests were executed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and involved individuals hailing from Honduras, Mexico, Guatemala, and Vietnam, all of whom held prior convictions for serious offenses, according to the DHS announcement.
“ICE successfully detained criminal illegal aliens previously convicted of manslaughter, child sexual assault, and carjacking,” stated Lauren Bis, the Acting Assistant Secretary of DHS, in an official statement. “These types of dangerous criminals should never have been allowed into the United States initially.”

Lauren Bis further praised the efforts of ICE officers, describing them as patriots who risk their lives daily to ensure the removal of such dangerous individuals from American communities.
Bis said that ICE officers “are patriots who put their lives on the line to remove heinous criminals from our communities.”
“Next time you see an ICE officer, thank them for their service to our nation,” she added.
