Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is aiming to headline Madison Square Garden.

Marc Agnifilo, the lead attorney for the 55-year-old music executive, shared with CBS Mornings that the artist known for the hit “I’ll Be Missing You” is planning a return performance at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden.

The lawyer mentioned to the network’s Jericka Duncan in a segment scheduled to broadcast on Thursday, ‘He’s planning to make his way back to Madison Square Garden – and I assured him I would attend.’

Agnifilo told Duncan that Diddy told him he wants to ‘get back with his mother, and the people who love him and miss him.’

The lawyer added, ‘I think he wants to get out of jail, reestablish a loving, present relationship with all of his seven children.’

Duncan questioned the lawyer, asking, ‘Has he mentioned to you his plans to return to the music scene?’ Agnifilo responded, ‘Actually, no – he hasn’t discussed that with me – but he did mention he plans on returning to Madison Square Garden.’

Duncan asked ‘Doing what?’ to which Agnifilo responded, ‘I guess being on stage, you know?’

Agnifilo said of Diddy, ‘I think he’s someone who’s always going to strive to do something, you know, exceptional and probably demanding and challenging.’

Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Combs for further comment on the story. 

The chatter about the rapper’s future comes amid news his legal team has been in contact with President Donald Trump’s administration about a potential pardon. 

Another member of the Diddy legal team, Nicole Westmoreland, said it was her ‘understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon’ in a chat with CNN earlier this week.

Diddy remains ‘a very hopeful person,’ Westmoreland said, and is upbeat that Trump –  who he has a relationship with dating back decades – will grant his request.

Trump spoke with Newsmax Friday about his prospects of granting Diddy’s pardon.

‘Well he was essentially, sort of, half-innocent,’ the president said. ‘I don’t know what they do that he’s still in jail or something. He was celebrating a victory but I guess it wasn’t as good a victory.’

Diddy remains ‘a very hopeful person’ and is upbeat that Trump will grant his pardon request. The rapper was pictured with the now-president and First Lady Melania Trump in 2008 in NYC

Trump added of their longtime association: ‘I was very friendly with him, get along with him great, seemed like a nice guy, didn’t know him well.’

Diddy was cleared on sex trafficking and racketeering charges in his criminal trial in New York City last month. 

The Satisfy You artist was convicted in connection with federal prostitution violations – and has been denied bail – but has a hearing on slate for October 3. 

Diddy has been held in a New York City jail since he was arrested last fall in connection with the federal charges.

Agnifilo told CBS Diddy has been using the time in prison to focus on ‘the blessings that he’s been given, on the imperfections that I think he sees in himself.’

Under the counts he was convicted of – transportation to engage in prostitution – Diddy faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in custody.

Diddy could have been held for life had he been convicted on the other charges. 

Attorneys for the hip-hop stalwart said Diddy should be allowed a bond of $1 million to go free until sentencing.

Prosecutors maintained Diddy was still was a flight risk in the wake of the verdicts.
