“Welcome to the most dangerous planet in the universe,” declares Dan Trachtenberg, the director of “Predator: Badlands,” as he delves into the creation of the latest chapter in the iconic “Predator” series.
Starring Elle Fanning as Thia and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek, this action-packed film follows two unlikely allies as they fight for survival on a perilous and isolated planet.
In a behind-the-scenes featurette, Trachtenberg shares his creative vision, stating, “Following ‘Prey,’ I was eager to explore new territory with the franchise by challenging this legendary movie monster like never before and truly discovering what it’s capable of.”
He also expresses his excitement for audiences to experience “a true cinematic adventure, where they’ll find themselves cheering for a character they’ve never had the chance to support before.”
Schuster-Koloamatangi, whose character confronts not only terrifying creatures but the hostile environment of the planet itself, comments on Trachtenberg’s dedication, saying, “He’s an enormous ‘Predator’ enthusiast, deeply committed to the narrative and its universe.”
Trachtenberg’s track record proves his love for the franchise. He helmed “Prey” and also Hulu’s animated flick “Predator: Killer of Killers.”
20th Century Studios’ “Predator: Badlands” premieres in theaters November 7.
