The sunny dry weather this weekend is making for delightful conditions to get out in the garden and could inspire you to learn about growing your own vegetables.

Get set for next week’s upcoming plant sale that will help with your efforts.

The fall Master Gardener plant sale in St. Augustine will take place Friday and Saturday, October 21-22.

Hundreds of carefully tended plants specialized for our climate will be for sale. The mature plants are grown by local experts who ensure you will have success with the varieties.

In addition, you can find the perfect pumpkin for carving or cooking. The 4-H Pumpkin Project will be offering a wide variety of pumpkins as part of their fundraiser.

But this year there is more!

The St. Johns county agricultural extension office is helping to connect you to the local agricultural community.

A bus tour of local farms will take you behind the scenes of a feed mill operation along with a visit to an organic farm. Guests will be able to purchase farm-to-table goods in Elkton and learn about the agricultural products made in St. Johns County.

On Saturday, October 22nd from 9 AM to 3 PM you can attend the St. Johns County Master Gardener Plant Clinic and attend Educational Programs including:

  • 10:00 AM – Microgreens – Terra Freeman
  • 10:45 AM – Fall Vegetable Gardening – Barbara Purple
  • 11:30 AM – Food Preservation – Wendy Lynch
  • 12:00 PM – Lunch
  • 1:00 PM – Cracker Cattle – Tim Wilson

Be sure to sign up for the tour in advance here. The location for the St. Johns County Extension Office is 3125 Agricultural Center Dr. St. Augustine, FL 32092
