Kappy’s has been a staple in Morton Grove since 1979.

Dishing out breakfast favorites for decades, Kappy’s is a local treasure here, and the most ingredient that makes them shine is not even on the menu.

Here it’s all about family first.

“My dad was really adamant about treating people like family,” Kappy’s owner George D. Alpogianis said.

“Everyone is treated like family here,” manager Marianthe Zervas said.

And the staff, is family.

“Staff is phenomenal, my egg-man has been with me for 44 years,” Alpogianis said. “My head waiter has been with my 45 years and we were all busboys together…we value them, we let then know how important they are to us.”

Family means so much to the staff here at Kappy’s. It’s embedded into décor, each face on this wall, a happy customer.

“The food is very good here and the service is outstanding,” customer John Maentianis said.

Speaking of food, here quality matters.

“Our omelets are very, very popular,” Alpogianis said. “We run the eggs into a milkshake blender and then put them in with the ingredients, roll them and throw them in the oven.”

“Kappy’s traditional crepes are pecans, bananas and fresh berries on it…our ham off the bone that recipe has been in my family since 1954.”

Tradition, dedication to family and customers, is what keeps Kappy’s going strong.
