LOS ANGELES — Attention all Beatles enthusiasts, this announcement is for you.
Disney+ has launched a brand-new trailer for the revitalized “The Beatles Anthology.”
This iconic documentary series, which first premiered in 1995, has been meticulously restored and expanded from its original eight episodes to a grand total of nine. It delves into the captivating narrative and enduring influence of one of music’s most cherished bands.
“The Beatles were always a great little band,” Paul McCartney remarks in the newly released trailer, available for viewing above.
The official description reveals that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr guide us through their journey, recounting the peaks and valleys of their remarkable eight-year career. The series covers their gritty beginnings, the whirlwind of Beatlemania, and their rise to global fame. Notably, the newly added ninth episode showcases enlightening, unseen footage of Paul, George, and Ringo during the creation of the original 1990s “Anthology” series and music project.
That ninth episode is directed by Oliver Murray. The first eight are directed by Geoff Wonfor, Bob Smeaton, and Matt Longfellow. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, and Martin R. Smith are producers for the entire series.
Footage and sound has been restored by the Apple Corps production team, along with the technicians at Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post in Wellington, New Zealand.
The first three episodes of “The Beatles Anthology” stream November 26. Episodes four through six stream November 27 and the final three, including the bonus ninth episode, premiere November 28.
