According to JSO Sgt. Richardson, officers were dispatched to the scene around 6:15 a.m. following reports of gunfire. The altercation reportedly began as a dispute over money between the victim and the suspect.

During the heated exchange, the suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim, striking him in the armpit, bicep, and thigh. Despite the severity of the confrontation, the injuries sustained by the victim are considered non-life-threatening, as confirmed by Sgt. Richardson.

The incident has prompted an investigation by local authorities as they work to piece together the circumstances that led to the shooting. Meanwhile, the community is left on edge as they await further updates on this unsettling event.

The man’s injuries are non-life-threatening, according to Richardson.

Richardson said the man and suspect know each other, however, the sheriff’s office does not yet know the relationship between the two. He added that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and that detectives spoke to witnesses.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call JSO’s non-emergency number at 904-630-0500. To provide information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
