Donald Glover, known in the music world as Childish Gambino, recently revealed that a stroke he suffered last year was the reason behind the abrupt cancellation of his tour.

Initially referring to the incident as an “ailment,” Glover clarified the situation during a performance on Saturday night. He disclosed that a doctor had diagnosed him with a stroke, a revelation he shared at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles, which quickly spread across social media platforms.

During his time on stage, Glover, 42, explained, “You guys wanted to know where I’ve been. Well, I experienced severe head pain while in Louisiana, but I pushed through the performance. By the time we reached Houston, my vision was impaired, so I sought medical attention. It was then that the doctor informed me I had suffered a stroke.”

Glover expressed a sense of disappointment, feeling as though he had let his fans down, especially since he has yet to visit Ireland. Additionally, he shared another health challenge, mentioning that a hole was discovered in his heart, which required him to undergo two surgical procedures.

“They say everybody has two lives and the second life starts when you realize you have one,” Glover said. “You got one life, guys, and I gotta be honest, the life I’ve lived with you guys has been such a blessing.”

His representatives did not immediately respond to request for comment.
