() Donald Trump Jr. shared his sadness with the rest of the country after the death of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder.
“This isn’t my strong suit and I don’t even know how to begin to put into words the loss I am feeling right now over the assassination of Charlie Kirk,” Trump Jr. posted in a part of a statement on X.
“Charlie wasn’t just a friend he was like a little brother to me – and to millions of people around the world – he was a true inspiration. He was one of the most courageous, principled men I’ve ever known, and he lived every day with purpose. His faith in God was unshakable, his love for Erika was inspiring, and the way he adored and cared for his two beautiful kids showed the kind of man he truly was. Charlie dedicated his life to something bigger than himself,” he said.
Charlie Kirk and Donald Trump Jr.’s history together
Trump Jr. and Kirk have a long history dating back to Kirk becoming an avid supporter and ally of Trump Jr.’s father, President Donald Trump. Kirk served as a personal aide to Trump Jr. during the 2016 general election campaign.
Turning Point USA’s political wing helped assist the senior Trump’s campaign last year, which energized disaffected conservatives to vote. As a result, Trump was able to secure Arizona, Turning Point’s home base, by 5 percentage points.
“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.
