BETHPAGE, New York — President Donald Trump has arrived on Long Island Friday morning to attend the Ryder Cup.

He landed at Republic Airport in Farmingdale and will make his way to Bethpage Black Golf Course in Farmingdale.

President Trump will arrive at around noon and spend more than three hours viewing what he dubbed on social media as “Tournament Friday.”

The visit will bring the highest level of security to the event, with local road closures and disruptions.

PGA cautioned fans to anticipate “enhanced security measures and additional restrictions.” All attendees in the massive grandstand surrounding the first tee and the 18th green, as well as in the clubhouse, will be “subjected to TSA-style screening points. Ticketed attendees are strongly urged to arrive as early as possible and should budget extra time as they plan their day.” Items typically allowed at major golf events are not permitted Friday in the first tee grandstand or clubhouse area of the golf course.

Trump is expected to view the 45th Ryder Cup from in a seat in the grandstand, behind his usual security glass. He is the first sitting U.S. president to attend, and it will be Trump’s first trip to Long Island during his second term. He is not expected to return for Sunday’s Ryder Cup presentation.

President Trump will be accompanied by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman. Trump took Nassau County in last year’s presidential election, the first Republican to do so in more than 30 years. He won Suffolk County in 2016, 2020, and 2024.
