Donald Trump made a subtle entrance at the Cadillac Championship 2026 held in Miami on Sunday afternoon.

This week marks the return of the PGA Tour to Trump’s Miami golf course, a venue it hasn’t visited since 2016. The prestigious Doral’s Blue Monster is now the setting for this inaugural championship.

During the final round, Trump arrived at the ‘Trump Suite’ accompanied by his granddaughter Kai and Vanessa, amidst the backdrop of an impressive $20 million prize pool for the tournament.

This occasion signifies the PGA Tour’s first event at Doral since the World Golf Championships in 2016.

Notably, the competition is missing five of the top 15 ranked players, including Masters champion Rory McIlroy. Other top players like Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg have also chosen to skip the event.

The President’s arrival, meanwhile, came just hours after a man was taken into custody by Secret Service agents at a security checkpoint on the course.

Footage, posted on social media on Saturday, showed the man being handcuffed and detained by officers at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami.

He was arrested after allegedly defying orders and ‘getting physical’ with a Secret Service agent, the New York Post reported.

It is claimed the man was later taken to a correctional center in Miami and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting without violence.

‘At no point did this situation impact the established security posture for any upcoming visits to Trump National Doral Golf Club by Secret Service protectees,’ a Secret Service Miami spokesperson told The Post.

The incident comes a week after Cole Thomas Allen, 31, allegedly attempted to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington.

Meanwhile, Trump’s course made headlines before the competition had even got underway after it underwent a makeover ahead of the PGA Tour’s return.

It was revealed last week that a towering gold statue of the Commander-in-Chief had been erected on the grounds of the course.

The 15-feet-tall statue depicts the President throwing his fist into the air as he did in in the moments following the July 2024 assassination attempt on his life in Pennsylvania.

However, it almost didn’t make it to the course in time for this week’s PGA Tour signature event.

Sculptor Alan Cottrill, who works out of Zanesville, Ohio, was commissioned for the project in August 2024, the month following the assassination attempt on the president, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

$PATRIOT, a cryptocurrency group, commissioned the work to be done with Cottrill being paid paid $300,000 for the 15-foot bronze statue itself and another $60,000 for the gold leafing.

However, Cottrill reportedly held the statue hostage after he accused the crypto group of copyright infringement after it used the likeness of the artwork to sell crypto tokens.

After full payment was received, both parties reached an agreement with Cottrill releasing the statue last week when it finally made its way down to Doral.
