CHICAGO (WLS) — In a devastating incident on Wednesday afternoon, a shooting took place in a parking lot in Chicago’s Humboldt Park, leaving three individuals wounded, according to local police reports.

The alarming event unfolded around midday, specifically in the 4000 block of West Hirsch Street, as stated by police officials.
According to police, as the victims stood in the parking lot, an assailant in a passing vehicle opened fire, targeting the unsuspecting trio.
One of the injured, a 22-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He managed to transport himself to Norwegian Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, authorities confirmed.
Another victim, aged 25, was struck in the right armpit and was subsequently rushed to Stroger Hospital. He is also reported to be in critical condition.
A 33-year-old man was shot in the the right hand and self-transported to Norwegian Hospital. CPD said he is expected to be OK.

At about the same time, two people were shot to death in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood on Wednesday.
At least seven teenagers were shot Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning across Chicago, police said.
A teen boy was killed in one of the shootings in the Little Village neighborhood.
Chicago police did not connect any of the shootings to each other.
