Dumpster Drama: Bay Area Resident Faces Unexpected Trash Trouble Over Unpaid Bill

A dumpster company in the Bay Area took drastic measures against a customer accused of not paying for a bin rental, by dumping a large heap of trash onto the individual’s property.

Martin Perez, who owns Express Rental Dumpster, explained that a client in San Pablo had rented a dumpster to clear out substantial waste from their home. However, Perez encountered problems with the credit card information provided, and his attempts to collect payment went unanswered.

“The card was declined,” Perez shared with KTVU.

“They kept promising, ‘I’ll pay later. I’ll pay later,’ but never followed through,” he added.

After repeated unfulfilled promises, Perez decided to take action by sending a driver to retrieve the dumpster, which was overflowing with rubbish.

Having already lost money by delivering the bin and going out to retrieve it, Perez said he refused to cough up more by taking the trash to the dump and paying fees to drop it there.

Instead, his driver unloaded all of the trash right back onto the customer’s driveway — with the whole thing captured on the Ring camera.

A neighbor eventually called police about the trash, and the driver was told the debris had to be removed from the sidewalk.

Scavengers later came out and dug through the mound, further spreading the trash, which neighbors ended up cleaning and covering with a tarp.

A neighbor named Mary told KTVU that the homeowner told her the dumpster was paid for.

“She says she paid $700 for it, and then, all of a sudden, I see him back up and dump it all on the ground. I don’t really know what that was about,” Mary said.
