Elon Musk shared a sweet on-camera moment with his four-year-old daughter Azure during a livestream from an event promoting his companies yesterday.
Azure is one of four children Musk, 55, has with technology executive Shivon Zilis, 40. She was born in November 2021 alongside her twin brother, Strider.
The surprise appearance came just one week after Musk and Zilis announced their sudden breakup.
Musk was joining the X Takeover event by video from Tesla’s global headquarters in Austin, Texas, when Azure interrupted him as he discussed plans to build the Tesla Roadster.
Turning toward her off camera as she entered the room, he said, “Hey guys, I think I’ve got to sign off here,” before Azure appeared in view.
The audience erupted in cheers. Laughing, Musk explained to his daughter that the people watching were “supporters of Tesla.”
Azure responded with a sound that drew more laughter, prompting Musk to tell her, “There’s like 2,000 people out there, so quite a lot of people.”
He then told the crowd, “I’ve got to go hang out with the kids, so I look forward to next time.” Before leaving, Azure leaned toward the camera, gazing open-mouthed at the audience in a moment that delighted viewers.

The convention showcased Musk’s companies, Tesla and SpaceX, while focusing on artificial intelligence, energy and robotics. Its high-profile speakers included rapper Nicki Minaj and Musk’s mother, Maye Musk.
Last Friday, Zilis posted an emotional message on social media about the end of her relationship with Musk. “It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s how it is sometimes,” she wrote.
Musk has 14 known children with four different women. His first son, Nevada Alexander, died in 2002 at 10 weeks old from sudden infant death syndrome.
He became a father for the first time with Justine Wilson, 54. After Nevada’s death, the couple had twins Griffin and Vivian Jenna in 2004, followed by triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian in 2006. Vivian Jenna is transgender and is now estranged from Musk.
Musk’s next child was X Æ A-Xii, whom he had with singer Grimes—whose real name is Claire Boucher, 38—in May 2020.
Zilis later became the mother of Azure and her twin brother, Strider, who were born in November 2021. Just weeks later, Musk and Grimes welcomed their second child, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogate.
In June 2022, Musk and Grimes had their third and final child together, Techno Mechanicus.
Arcadia Musk, Musk’s third child with Zilis, was born in February 2024. Their fourth child, and Musk’s most recent with Zilis, Seldon Lycurgus, arrived in February 2025.
Musk also had a son, Romulus, with MAGA influencer Ashley St. Clair, 28. The child was born between Arcadia and Seldon Lycurgus in September 2024.

Grimes’s legal dispute with Mr Musk ended in August 2024, the result of which was kept confidential. But a now-deleted social media post by the singer appeared to reveal she had custody of the children every other week

MAGA influencer Ashley St. Clair is embroiled in an ongoing legal battle with Mr Musk for custody of their two-year-old child Romulus
His children with Ms St. Clair and Grimes have been the subject of bitter public custody battles.
In September 2023, Grimes and Mr Musk went to court in a multi-million-dollar case over their three children X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus.
Mr Musk filed a lawsuit in Texas to establish a parent-child relationship, but Grimes countersued in California seeking physical custody.
The conflicting state jurisdictions added to the complexity of the issue, but the battle was ended in August 2024.
While the final arrangement was kept confidential, Grimes appeared to imply she has custody of the children every other week in a now-deleted social media post.
She had told her followers on X: ‘It’s my week without my kids so if u wanna get responses from me it’s now or every second week after this.’
Ms St. Clair also took Mr Musk to court in a custody battle over their son Romulus in February 2025, which is still ongoing.
Ms St. Clair filed for sole custody five months after he was born.
Last month, she publicly claimed she turned down a $40million non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to not take part in an upcoming documentary about Mr Musk, saying in the New York Times, ‘my children’s dignity is not a commodity’.
Mr Musk denied offering the sum, but noted he does provide financial support to her and Romulus.
He has now countersued for full custody of Romulus in January this year after Ms St Clair announced support of the trans community.
He wrote on X: ‘I will be filing for full custody today, given her statements implying she might transition a one-year-old boy.’
Ms St Clair denies she said this.
The friction came when Ms St Clair posted a public apology on X over past comments she made about Romulus’s half-sister, Vivian Jenna Wilson – Mr Musk’s estranged transgender daughter – and pledged support for the trans community.
