Elon Musk was snapped touring a new Tesla gigafactory in Texas yesterday with one of his 11 children in tow as he met with Hungarian President Katalin Novák for talks on the world’s demographic crisis.

The billionaire owner of X – formerly known as Twitter – met with the politician in Austin after he was unable to make the biannual Demographic Summit in Budapest last week to discuss population collapse.

Musk was pictured with his child on his shoulders as he showed Novák around the facility before heading for a meeting in private to discuss the importance of having children.

The entrepreneur took to X after the meeting to write plainly: ‘Having children is saving the world’. Novák shared the sentiment in a post on Facebook, calling Musk an ‘ally’ in the ‘freedom fight of families’.

‘With Elon Musk we discussed what we can do together to help young people have more courage to say yes to having children. Childlessness is the most worrying feature of our time,’ she summed up.

Writing on Facebook earlier today, Novák summed up the meeting: ‘Elon Musk – another ally in the families freedom struggle and peace mission.

‘Outside Hungary, more and more people see that the demographic ice age, which was welcomed in the west, threatens the end of the world as we know.

‘Our country was the first to place the family division at the center of the demographic struggle.

‘We talked with Elon Musk about what we can do together to make young people dare to say yes to children.

‘Childlessness is the most worrying phenomenon of our age. Elon Musk has become a new ally of us in the fight for freedom of families, who knows and appreciates Hungary’s family-centered program.

‘We talked for a long time about the war in Ukraine. We agreed that an immediate ceasefire and lasting peace is needed.

‘I am particularly glad that he understood the problems of Transcarpathian Hungarians as a result of our conversation.

‘Having children will save the world. – Having children is saving the world.’

Hungary, under the leadership of national-conservative party Fidesz, has pursued a number of ‘pro-family’ policies to protect a falling population of 9.6 million.

In 2015, the country introduced a housing scheme for young married couples, and rolled out a lifelong tax exemption in 2019 for women who bear four or more children.

Musk had been due to attend the Demographic Summit in the capital of Budapest this month before the meeting with Novák.

The event was attended by leading voices including Italian PM Giorgia Meloni, Canadian polemicist Jordan Peterson and Nobel Prize-winning economist James Heckman.

The summit was first held in 2015, organised by the Hungarian government in partnership with the UN’s Population Fund (UNFPA) and other international groups.

‘We need a change in the political course. We have to make sure that family-friendly, conservative powers take over in as many European countries as possible,’ Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told the conference on September 16.

Elon Musk has raised the alarm on population collapse several times in the past, tweeting in January: ‘Population collapse is a major risk to the future of civilization.’

He also shared a link to World Bank data, which showed the world’s fertility rate was at its lowest since the 1960s.

Musk was recently seen with son X Æ A-12 Musk (X for short) in an awkward meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Musk brought his son along to the talk on Tesla’s future in Turkey while Erdoğan was in New York for the UN General Assembly.

‘Where is your wife?’ asked Erdoğan, as Musk held his son.

‘Oh, she’s in San Francisco,’ he replied. ‘We’re separated, I take care of him mostly.’

Erdoğan brought a football for the three-year-old, who seemed more interested in the cameras.

X Æ A-12 (also known as X) is one of three children Musk has with music artist Grimes.

The couple ‘semi-separated’ in September 2021.

Musk has 11 children with three different women.

After marrying Canadian author Justine Wilson in 2000, the couple welcomed Nevada Alexander Musk in 2002. Nevada tragically died of SIDS at 10-weeks.

Wilson gave birth to twins Griffin and Vivian Musk in 2004 after receiving IVF treatment, and to triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian in 2006.

Musk and Wilson divorced in 2008.

The entrepreneur started dating pop singer Grimes in 2018, who gave birth to their son X in 2020.

In 2022, Grimes announced the birth of Exa Dark Sideræl Musk via surrogate, born in December 2021. Exa was nicknamed Y.

After separating from Grimes, Musk welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis in November 2021, according to court documents.

According to a book review published by the New York Times earlier this month, Musk had a third child with Grimes, named Techno Mechanicus.
