() Two days after conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a campus speaking event, his podcast returned to the air with an empty chair left in his honor.

Andrew Kolvet, a producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” hosted Friday’s program alongside Kirk’s friends Tyler Bowyer, Jack Posobiec and Blake Neff. Kolvet said the group gathered in Kirk’s studio for a “sacred, solemn moment” to honor their colleague and friend.

Kirk, founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday during a tour stop at Utah Valley University. He was appearing as part of his “Prove Me Wrong: The American Comeback” speaking tour when a gunshot struck his neck.

Authorities identified the suspected shooter Friday as Tyler Robinson, 22, who was taken into custody, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said.

Kolvet said Kirk’s chair would remain empty in the studio to symbolize his absence. “Nobody could ever hope to fill it,” he said. “But, by all of us together, we want to honor him, and we want to be more like him, and we want to be inspired by him.”
