() The Trump administration has stopped using military aircraft to deport immigrants in the U.S. illegally.

A U.S. Defense Department source tells the Pentagon has not received a request from the Department of Homeland Security for military aircraft since Saturday, March 1.

Since Donald Trump began his second term Jan. 20, his administration has used military planes to send some migrants to Naval Station Guantanamo Bay in Cuba as well as international locations for deportation.

Military flights are only one option available to DHS to relocate immigrants. The Defense Department source said the military would comply with any requests for future flights.

The migrants who have been sent to Guantanamo Bay are considered the most dangerous immigrants who have entered or remained in the U.S. illegally, Trump administration officials have said.

The Wall Street Journal reported the suspension of military flights earlier Wednesday.
