Former CIA director lashes out about Hunter Biden's laptop

John Brennan, the former director of the CIA, recently found himself in a heated exchange with a man challenging him over the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop.

During the encounter, Brennan was visibly agitated as he confronted Thomas Speciale, a national security consultant, who questioned him about a well-known letter. This letter, signed by 51 former intelligence officials including Brennan, suggested that the emails in question were likely part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Speciale shared the video of this intense interaction on the platform X, noting that it took place last Thursday after a conference.

In the video, Speciale, holding a beer, approached Brennan to discuss the letter further. However, before he could finish his question, Brennan, a Democrat, became visibly upset.

“You misrepresented that,” Brennan retorted, jabbing a finger towards Speciale’s chest in response.

‘We never said it was disinformation; we said it was Russian influence operations, which is what they do. There’s a big difference,’ he continued as several people watched in shock to his heated reaction.

The national security consultant then tried to push back, but before he could, Brennan walked away and said: ‘I’m not going to waste my time with you.’

Brennan’s response went against the exact wording in the letter that stated the former president’s son’s email had ‘all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.’

The video quickly sparked reaction from online users as many applauded Speciale for getting under the liberal’s skin.

‘Great job Thomas. Boy, you had him pissed,’ one wrote.

‘Well done, sir. Very nicely done,’ said another as someone else chimed in: ‘Brennan falling apart is the best thing I’ve seen today.’

Others said that Brennan’s reaction was all the American people needed to see, as one commented: ‘Can you say guilty AF.’

‘The walls are closing in on this criminal,’ another wrote.

Biden’s emails, which were first reported by the New York Post and independently verified by the Daily Mail, were leaked in October 2020.

They showed that older Biden, who was a presidential candidate at the time, had close ties to his son’s business deals with an energy company in Ukraine.

The former president then ‘pressured’ government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor that was investigating the company, per the Post.

Controversy soon followed the reveal of the emails as national security officials claimed what was on the laptop was Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

Documents on the laptop, which was originally discovered at a Delaware tech repair shop, showed Hunter was paid a $1 million retainer in 2017 to represent his business partner Patrick Ho, who was being prosecuted by the US government, and that CEFC wired the Biden family a total of $5 million.

One startling email even indicated the president could have been involved in Hunter’s business dealings with the Chinese.

Nearly 9,000 photos from the device also showed the First Son taking drugs and having sex with prostitutes.

The images were dated between 2008 and 2019. Some have geographic coordinates attached, showing Hunter took photos in Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, Kosovo, the Dominican Republic, western China, London, Paris, Rome, Belgrade and across the US.

Some of the ex-intelligence officials who signed the memo have since claimed they were actively being paid by the CIA on a contract basis when they signed the letter.

Those officials were stripped of their security clearances in March by President Trump.

According to a report, high-ranking CIA officials were made aware of the letter before its publishing and some raised concerns about the political nature of the letter.

Biden also claimed there was an effort to ‘break Hunter’ and destroy what he said was five-and-a-half years of sobriety.

Just last month the House Judiciary Committee referred Brennan for criminal prosecution for making ‘numerous willfully and intentionally false statements’ to Congress.

According to the committee, Brennan lied on several occasions when testifying in May 2023.

Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, claims Brennan misled lawmakers about the infamous Steele dossier — a series of controversial and largely unverified memos by former British spy Christopher Steele that accused Donald Trump of colluding with Russia during the 2016 election.

The dossier, funded by the Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee via Washington research firm Fusion GPS, alleged ties between Trump’s campaign and Russian operatives, including salacious blackmail claims, sparking significant controversy.

The referral to the DOJ does not mean that Brennan has been charged with any crime. He has not yet commented on the development.
