A former employee of Corewell Health found himself in the spotlight this week as he faced sentencing for a significant theft case in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ex-worker, Stephen Jacobsen from Allendale, was penalized on Wednesday with probation and a substantial restitution charge for pilfering medical bone grafts from the healthcare provider’s warehouse located in Walker.
Jacobsen, 40, had been caught on video surveillance, as detailed in a police report, brazenly taking bone grafts and other supplies, which he then loaded into a pickup truck. His actions initially led to a charge of embezzlement involving amounts exceeding $50,000 but falling short of $100,000.
