In a recent courtroom development, Chicago laboratory owner Mohamed Sirajudeen has admitted his involvement in a conspiracy to cheat the federal government, pleading guilty to the charges against him.
CHICAGO (WLS) — The legal troubles continue for Anosh Ahmed, the former chief financial officer of Loretto Hospital in Chicago, as he finds himself facing fresh indictments.
Ahmed has recently returned to U.S. soil and appeared in court on Friday to answer to new allegations connected to a fraudulent scheme. Notably, these charges now include accusations of his involvement in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme related to COVID-19 testing.

Prosecutors claim that Ahmed leveraged patient data from COVID-19 testing services to illicitly solicit funds from federal sources.
His initial arrest took place in January while he was in Serbia, marking the beginning of his ongoing legal battles.
Ahmed is due in court on the second indictment on Monday.
A Chicago lab owner pleaded guilty earlier this month to conspiring with the former Loretto Hospital executive in the COVID-19 testing scheme.
In a change of plea, Mohamed Sirajudeen admitted to working with Ahmed to defraud the government of tens of millions of dollars.
Charges against two other co-defendants were dropped over allegations of misconduct by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
