Sherrone Moore, the former head coach of the University of Michigan, is set to appear in court this Friday. His return to the legal arena follows his arrest shortly after his dismissal from the university late last year. Moore is currently facing several serious charges, including home invasion and stalking.
The Friday court session will focus on a significant motion from Moore’s defense team. They are seeking to have some of the charges dismissed, arguing that the police did not adequately present the evidence against him. The judge’s decision on this matter could potentially impact the trajectory of Moore’s case.
The backdrop to Moore’s legal troubles began on December 10, when the University of Michigan terminated his position as head coach. The university cited the findings of an internal investigation, which concluded that Moore had engaged in an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”

On Friday, the judge will review a push from Moore’s team to toss at least some of the charges against him on the grounds that police did not properly present the case against him.
On Dec. 10, the University of Michigan dismissed Moore as head coach, citing an investigation that found he had engaged in “an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
After his dismissal, the 39-year-old Moore, who is married with three children, allegedly broke into the home of the woman with whom he had been having an affair and threatened to take his own life. Moore was arrested after the woman, a staffer at the university, contacted police, as well as his wife.
