Officers from the Oakland Police Department were dispatched just after 4:15 a.m. to the 11000 block of Ettrick Street in the Chabot Park area. They were responding to a report of a home intrusion, allegedly involving Martin. During this time, authorities were also informed that Martin was experiencing a medical emergency.
