The ex-wife of a Michigan man accused of attacking a synagogue recently informed local 911 dispatchers that he was “mentally unstable” prior to the incident, as revealed by records accessed by Fox News.
Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, aged 41, drove his vehicle into Temple Israel located in West Bloomfield last Thursday at 12:19 p.m., according to official reports. After crashing his car, Ghazali exited the vehicle with a rifle, leading to an exchange of gunfire with armed security personnel.
The FBI reported that following the gunfire exchange, Ghazali sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Just minutes after the incident began, at 12:21 p.m., Ghazali’s ex-wife reached out to 911. She expressed concern to the dispatcher, noting, “His voice is not stable,” and mentioned she had recently spoken with him, according to the obtained records.

Surveillance footage captured Ayman Mohamad Ghazali visiting a Phantom Fireworks store in Livonia, Michigan, where he spent over $2,000 on fireworks just days before the March 12 synagogue attack, as reported by the New York Post.
“I just want to make sure he’s OK,” she said.
Ghazali said that her ex-husband was “mentally unstable due to all his family dying overseas in the war.” She said that Ghazali asked her to “send money overseas” before ending the call.
