It has been nearly two years since viewers last tuned in to The White Lotus on HBO, building up excitement for the third season of Mike White’s popular Emmy-winning show. Recently, HBO has released the official full-length trailer for Season 3 of The White Lotus, confirming that Natasha Rothwell’s fan-favorite character Belinda is still managing the spa at the luxurious hotel chain’s Maui resorts. The trailer also offers intriguing hints about what to expect in the upcoming season, such as a wealthy patriarch’s quest to reclaim his lost wealth, a rise in violent incidents in Thailand, and escalating tensions among a trio of longtime friends (or frenemies) portrayed by Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, and Leslie Bibb.

What is The White Lotus Season 3 About?
The White Lotus Season 3 will follow guests and staff at a super opulent “White Lotus” spa and hotel located in Thailand. We already knew that Natasha Rothwell would be reprising her White Lotus Season 1 role in the new season, but the trailer confirms that Belinda hasn’t been transferred from the Maui, Hawaii White Lotus. Rather, she’s visiting the Thai location to soak up the “magic” of its spa to bring back to the States.
Rothwell’s Belinda is the third returning White Lotus character, after Jennifer Coolidge’s now-deceased Tanya and her con artist husband Greg (Jon Gries). Everyone else in The White Lotus Season 3 cast plays a new character, be it a guest staying at the Thai brand of the White Lotus or someone on staff.
The White Lotus Season 3 Trailer Easter Eggs: Key Plot and Character Reveals:
In addition to confirming why Natasha Rothwell’s Belinda is visiting Thailand, the brand new White Lotus trailer also gives us a few major clues about what appears to be three or four major storylines to follow next season:
- Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood’s December/May Couple: Sex Education standout Aimee Lou Wood plays Fallout and Righteous Gemstones fave Walton Goggins’s much younger partner in the new season of The White Lotus. She points out their age gap in the trailer, noting that he was mistaken for her father at the airport. Two other details that leapt out were the fact that Wood’s character mentions they should always live like this — suggesting the couple’s not used to this level of luxury — and that Goggins seems to know the well-heeled character played by Lek Patravadi somehow.
- Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan’s Girls’ Trip Gone Wild?: We also learned from the new White Lotus trailer that Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan play life-long besties (since 10th grade) who are trying to build new memories on a girls’ trip in Thailand. However, friction between the three women is obvious as Monaghan’s character seems hungry for fun and Coon’s character snaps at her friends, tearing them down for size in the trailer.
- Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey as a Wealthy Couple Losing It All: Maybe the biggest reveal in the whole White Lotus trailer was the very big plot point that Jason Isaacs’s wealthy Southern-accented patriarch learns that he has lost his family’s fortunes. Parker Posey plays his pampered wife, who literally says she doesn’t think she could live without the family’s money when it’s offered up to her as a hypothetical. Elsewhere, the couple’s three children, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and The Perfect Couple‘s Sam Nivola, are seen cavorting in Thailand and/or debating the cavorting.
- Blackpink’s Lisa as a Tough Cooke and Tayme Thapthimthong as…Not: The White Lotus Season 3 trailer shows us that crime is a problem in Thailand, offering us glimpses of guns being handled and boutiques being robbed. White Lotus security guard Tayme Thaphimthong is told the safety of the resort is in his hands, but he confesses to a colleague played by Blackpink’s Lisa that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Her advice is blunt, essentially telling him to buck up.

When Does The White Lotus Season 3 Come Out?
The White Lotus Season 3 will premiere on HBO on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The episode will be able to stream on MAX at 9 PM ET that night.
