A high-end skincare company has unveiled a revolutionary treatment featuring salmon DNA fragments, promising to rejuvenate and repair aging skin.

The innovative product, known as the Rodial Salmon DNA Water Oil, aims to enhance skin health by infusing it with DNA fragments and essential nutrients that bolster the skin’s natural healing process.

According to Rodial, this formula includes a purified extract derived from salmon milt, the reproductive tissue of fish, which is naturally abundant in DNA molecules similar to those in human skin.

The company asserts that this ingredient aids in boosting collagen production, enhancing elasticity, and visibly diminishing wrinkles over time.

Clinical trials referenced by the brand reveal that the key ingredient reduced wrinkle depth by 135 percent compared to a placebo after eight weeks, while also improving skin elasticity by 26 percent and increasing skin thickness by roughly 10 percent.

The oil, costing $198.72, also contains other ingredients linked to anti-aging benefits, including plant-based growth factors and NAD+, a molecule involved in cellular energy and repair.

Rodial says the formula works through a two-layer system that keeps ingredients separate until the moment it is applied to the skin.

‘Our unique bi-phase architecture is more than visual, it is a functional necessity,’ the company said in product materials.

The new serum highlights a growing trend in the beauty industry: using advanced biotechnology ingredients that aim to support the skin’s natural repair systems rather than simply moisturizing the surface.

Despite the dramatic name, the product does not contain whole strands of fish DNA. Instead, it uses a purified cosmetic ingredient called Sodium DNA, a type of polynucleotide, small fragments of DNA molecules.

These fragments are extracted from salmon milt, a by-product of the fishing industry that is naturally rich in DNA.

According to the brand, the raw material is cleaned and processed through a controlled biotechnology process to remove proteins and impurities.

The DNA is then broken into smaller fragments that can more easily interact with skin cells.

‘The Sodium DNA in this formula is carefully extracted from salmon milt (gonadic tissue) using a controlled biotechnological process designed to preserve its skin-supporting benefits,’ the company explained.

After extraction, the DNA fragments go through several rounds of purification and sterilization before being turned into a fine powder used in the final formula.

Rodial says the final ingredient contains at least 95 percent polynucleotide content and is tested to ensure it is free from microbes, heavy metals and other contaminants.

The brand says these DNA fragments work by stimulating cells responsible for repairing and rebuilding skin.

Specifically, the ingredient is believed to activate fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which keep skin firm and hydrated.

‘Salmon DNA acts as a powerful cellular activator, visibly plumping, strengthening, and renewing the skin,’ the company said.

Researchers studying similar ingredients have found they may also help skin repair damage caused by ultraviolet light and environmental stress.

Some studies suggest the DNA fragments can be reused by skin cells to repair damaged genetic material, a process sometimes called the ‘salvage pathway.’

The serum uses what the company described as a bi-phase formula, meaning the product contains two separate liquid layers, one water-based and one oil-based.

Rodial says this design prevents delicate ingredients from breaking down before use.

When the bottle is shaken, the two layers mix into a cloud of microscopic droplets that deliver the active ingredients across the skin.

The formula also contains plant oils such as meadowfoam, babassu and chia seed oil, which are meant to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier and lock in moisture.

Rodial says the final formula is 99.1 percent natural origin and does not contain artificial dyes or colorants.

The company says users may see different effects depending on how long the product is used.

Short-term effects may include improved hydration and a smoother appearance within the first few weeks.

More noticeable changes, such as reduced wrinkles and firmer skin, are expected after about four to eight weeks, when deeper biological processes begin to take place.

Clinical trials of the key ingredients showed measurable improvements during that period.

Growth factor ingredients used in the formula reduced wrinkles by up to 39 percent after 28 days, while NAD+ was linked to skin appearing up to eight years younger after 42 days, according to research cited by the brand.

Rodial says the product is designed for people interested in high-performance skincare backed by scientific research.

‘This formula isn’t just for a specific age, it’s for a specific skin goal,’ the company said.

The brand says the serum can appeal to consumers seeking preventative anti-aging treatments, those recovering from environmental skin damage, or people looking to enhance the results of professional cosmetic treatments such as microneedling or laser therapy.

The lightweight oil-water mixture is designed to work on all skin types, including sensitive or acne-prone skin.

Rodial says the goal is both immediate and long-term benefits, providing instant hydration while encouraging the skin to rebuild itself over time.

‘In short,’ the company said, ‘this process produces a stable, ultra-pure, and highly effective Sodium DNA ingredient delivering real, clinically supported anti-aging benefits in every drop.’
