Damning truth about Ilhan Omar marrying her BROTHER

Ilhan Omar has strongly criticized the President, labeling him a bigot for his remarks about the Somali community and describing his interest in her personal life as a “creepy obsession.”

Despite Representative Omar’s dismissal of Donald Trump’s controversial accusation that she married her brother to circumvent immigration laws, the claim is not as far-fetched as she suggests.

As uncovered in a 2020 investigation by the Daily Mail, a close associate revealed that the Minnesota Congresswoman acknowledged this marriage scenario.

Abdihakim Osman Nur, a leader within the Somali community, was the first to publicly confirm to the Daily Mail in 2020 that Omar, aged 43, planned to assist Ahmed Elmi, 40—whom she allegedly referred to as her brother—in obtaining U.S. residency.

However, a formal marriage seemed improbable since Omar was still legally married to her first husband, Ahmed Hirsi, 45, with whom she shares three children.

But that’s exactly what happened according to paperwork from their 2009 nuptials in Eden Prairie, an upscale Minneapolis suburb.

‘No one knew there had been a wedding until the media turned up the marriage certificate years later,’ Osman told the Daily Mail.

Omar has dismissed suggestions that Elmi was her brother as a ‘baseless’ rumor fueled by Islamophobia. But Trump refuses to drop it.

On Tuesday at a rally in Pennsylvania – where he admitted for the first time that he had called Somalia, Haiti and other third world nations ‘s**thole countries’, a claim he had previously denied – he brought it up again, saying Omar should be kicked out of the country.

‘We oughta get her the hell out,’ Trump said as he riled up the MAGA crowd.

It is not known where Elmi is now. He was last known to be on the East African island of Zanzibar, part of Tanzania, in the early 2020s

Rumors have long claimed Omar and Elmi are siblings, but Somalia’s lack of surviving records has left no definitive proof

‘She married her brother in order to get in, right? She married her brother. Can you imagine if Donald Trump married his sister?

‘If I married my sister to get my citizenship, do you think I’d last for about two hours? Or would it be something less than that?

‘She married her brother to get in. Therefore, she’s here illegally. She should get the hell out. Throw her the hell out,’ he continued. ‘She does nothing but complain.’

The crowd responded with shouts of ‘Send her back!’

The Commander-In-Chief has been lashing out at Somali immigrants, calling them ‘garbage’ as a Minnesota scandal unfolds in which prosecutors say more than $1billion was siphoned off to fake social services, largely through false billing by Somali Americans.

Omar, who came to the US as a child has hit at Trump saying: ‘These are Americans that he is calling garbage.’

She added: ‘We feel like there is an unhealthy obsession that he has on the Somali community, and an unhealthy and creepy obsession that he has with me.’

Osman knew Omar and posed with her. He said Omar kept her marriage to Elmi on the down-low and that no one from the Somali community was invited

Osman (left with Hirsi and right with Omar), said Omar kept her marriage to Elmi quiet and invited no one from the community – a stark contrast to her first wedding to Hirsi

Trump’s obsession stems from a much-scrutinized marriage history that has dogged Omar throughout her ascent from fledgling Minnesota politician to Democratic ‘Squad’ star.

She married Hirsi in 2002 in a Muslim ceremony that, like many in the immigrant community, was not registered with the state.

Their first child Isra was born the following year and a second followed.

But in the late 2000s Elmi appeared in Minneapolis, said Osman, who referred to Hirsi by his nickname ‘Southside’ throughout the 2020 interview.

Osman could not be contacted for this article.

‘People began noticing that Ilhan and Southside were often with a very effeminate young guy,’ said Osman, 45, who spoke to the Daily Mail in Somali through an interpreter in 2020.

‘He was very feminine in the way he dressed. He would wear light lipstick and pink clothes and very, very, short shorts in the summer. People started whispering about him.

‘Southside and Ilhan both told me it was Ilhan’s brother and he had been living in London but he was mixing with what were seen as bad influences that the family did not like.

‘So they sent him to Minneapolis as ‘rehab”’

Osman said Omar kept her marriage to Elmi on the down-low and no-one from the Somali community was invited.

He explained: ‘When Southside and Ilhan got married, a lot of people were invited. It was a big Islamic wedding uniting two large clans in the Minneapolis community.

The application for marriage filled in by Ilhan Omar and Ahmed Elmi. The ceremony in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, was officiated by a Christian minister

‘I would say there were 100 to 150 people there.’ But, he said: ‘When she married Elmi, no one even knew about it.’

Osman said at the time Hirsi was better known than Omar among Somalis. ‘He was a footballer, he promoted a lot of Somali shows, he was very popular.

‘So the scandal was about Southside’s brother-in-law more than Ilhan’s brother.’ It has long been rumored that Omar and Elmi are brother and sister.

But because of a lack of paperwork in war-torn Somalia where they were both born, positive proof of their relationship has never been uncovered.

It is not known where Elmi is now. He was last known to be on the East African island of Zanzibar, part of Tanzania, in the early 2020s.

The first report that Omar and Elmi were siblings appeared on the website Somalispot in 2016.

It said of Elmi: ‘As soon as Ilhan Omar married him he started university at her alma mater North Dakota State University where he graduated in 2012.

‘Shortly thereafter, he moved to Minneapolis where he was living in a public housing complex and was later evicted. He then returned to the United Kingdom.’

Omar skirted details about the marriage in her 2020 autobiography, This Is What America Looks Like, saying only that she had a ‘Britney Spears-style meltdown’ when her marriage to Hirsi ended.’

‘I not only eloped with a man – whom I spent so little time with that I wouldn’t even make him a footnote in my story if it weren’t for the fact that this event turned into the main headline later on – but I shaved my head,’ she wrote, not attempting to explain what the ‘main headline’ was.

Elmi and Omar married on February 12, 2009 at a Hennepin County office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, southwest of Minneapolis, their marriage license shows.

And because their faith-based union was never recognized by law she was free to be married, curiously, by a Christian minister named Wilecia Harris.

When the Daily Mail approached Harris in 2020 she would not discuss the ceremony or why a Muslim couple would have asked her to officiate.

In a Facebook message, her husband Marcus Harris told the Daily Mail: ‘My wife doesn’t want to be involved or interviewed about Congresswoman Omar.’

‘It’s not going to happen, not now and not never.’

After their marriage, Omar and Elmi moved to Fargo, where they both attended North Dakota State.

But Omar and Hirsi were still together as husband and wife, Osman said.

Wilecia Harris, the Christian pastor who officiated at Elmi and Omar's marriage  declined to comment to the Daily Mail when asked why a Muslim couple would ask her to officiate and for details on the ceremony. Her husband  Marcus Harris said she would never discuss it

‘She said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers together to allow him to stay in this country.

‘Once she had the papers they could apply for student loans.

‘They both moved to North Dakota to go to school but she was still married to Southside.

‘In the Somali way, the only marriage that mattered was the one in the mosque.

‘Ilhan came back to Minneapolis all the time to see her family, but her brother didn’t come with her.’

Osman believes Elmi and Omar sought out someone outside the Somali community to conduct the ceremony because an imam would have known they were related and would have refused to marry them.

Osman, who is confined to a wheelchair after contracting polio before he moved to the United States in 2004, said he got to know Hirsi well in his first few years in Minneapolis.

They are the same age, both having been born in January 1980.

They originally met when Hirsi was working in a barber shop and when they both regularly ate at the now-defunct Indian Ocean restaurant.

When Hirsi opened his own business, Urban Hookah, which is also now closed, Osman occasionally helped out at the register.

Omar and Elmi eventually divorced in 2017 and she remarried Hirsi – with whom she had a third child – in a civil ceremony the following year, just in time for her election to Congress.

Osman scoffed at the idea that this was a real remarriage. ‘They never parted,’ he said.

The ‘remarriage’ did not last, however.

In July 2019, the Daily Mail exclusively revealed that Omar was having an affair with her chief fundraiser Tim Mynett, a married father-of-one.

A month later Mynett’s wife Beth Jordan filed for divorce.

Hirsi was also in a hurry to move on: 37 days after his divorce from Omar was finalized in November 2019 he married pediatric nurse Ladan Ahmed.

The marital musical chairs concluded in March 2020 when Omar and Mynett tied the knot, the latter converting to Islam.

‘They were married Islamically and legally,’ her spokesman confirmed.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Omar for comment on this story.
