A temporary halt in operations was declared at Reagan National Airport, close to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday as a precautionary measure. The action was taken to safely transport passengers from a United Airlines flight to the terminal via buses.

United Airlines, when approached for a statement, directed inquiries to the FBI for further information.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) acknowledged the situation on X, stating, “The FAA is aware of a reported security issue on an aircraft at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Passengers have been removed, and the aircraft is positioned away from the terminal while authorities conduct their investigation.”

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which oversees the airport’s operations, confirmed the halt, saying, “All flight operations are being held at Reagan National while passengers on a United Airlines flight are being offloaded and bussed to the terminal. We will provide more information as it becomes available.”
