Threatening letter sent to northern Colorado family over MAGA banner

SEVERANCE, Colo. (KDVR) A Severance, Colorado family says they recently received a threatening letter in the mail in response to a “Make America Great Again” banner posted in their front yard.

The sign in their front yard reads, “This is ultra MAGA country.” A family member says the letter was delivered to their mailbox on Wednesday.

The typed letter said that if the residents keep “putting them (MAGA flags) up for everyone to see,” that “someone might accidentally burn your house down.”

The family says the letter and envelope have been turned over to the Severance Police Department. They also have no plans to take down the banner.

A U.S. Postal Service spokesperson told ‘s KDVR that anyone who receives a threatening letter should report it to the U.S. Postal Service Inspectors and keep the letter as evidence.
