She shot to fame as a teen pop idol before transitioning into a successful acting career.
As an actress, she was the lead in one of the most critically acclaimed TV dramas of the last decade and shared the screen with top stars such as Robin Williams, Dwayne Johnson, and Diane Keaton.
But longtime fans had trouble recognizing Mandy Moore when she stepped out for the Inspiration Awards in Hollywood last month.
The Candy singer, 41, looked slimmer in the face than usual and had a much different makeup style than her fans are used to.
Departing from her typical preference for soft pinks and nude lip colors, Moore opted for a bold red lip paired with intensely dramatic eyes and brows.
She kept her outfit simple and classic, with a cream blouse draped over her slender frame and a black miniskirt.
Social media users didn’t hold back on Moore’s new look, with one writing, ‘I refuse to believe that this is her!’
Another added, ‘It’s not even the signs of aging that surprise me, it’s the fact that this person doesn’t look like Mandy Moore whatsoever.’

A third wrote, ‘I had to Google her to make sure I wasn’t crazy because I was like “that is NOT Mandy Moore!”‘
It comes after the This Is Us actress suffered a devastating tragedy.
She was nearly finished with renovating the house she and her husband Taylor Goldsmith shared with their three children – Gus, four; Ozzie, two; and baby Louise – when devastating California wildfires erupted on January 7, driven by strong winds.
While the structure of their abode was still intact, the star explained in a past social media post that the belongings inside ‘are a near total loss’ due to the surrounding fires.
In an emotional message to her followers in May, Moore wrote: ‘Thanks LA County for making it frustrating and impossible to rebuild after the fires as possible.
‘Shouldn’t be surprised but it’s mind boggling the red rape and hoops they’re putting is all through.’
Moore later uploaded a second post and continued, ‘I realize in my fury, my last post was a bit convoluted.’
The star added, ‘It’s madding and heartless… the endless hoops and meaningless protocol LA County us asking of fire victims who want to rebuild and get their lives back.

Instead of the usual soft pinks and nudes that she favors in her usual lipstick shades, Moore went for a bright red lip and a dramatically dark eye and brow

‘Wasn’t California going to make this easy as possible? We JUST finished construction in November and the fact that we’re back at square one is heartbreaking enough.’
Amid the spiraling crisis, she also revealed that her brother-in-law Griffin Goldsmith and his pregnant wife Kit had lost their house just weeks before their baby was due.
Left without a home, Mandy, Taylor and their three little children moved in temporarily with Hilary Duff and the latter’s husband Matthew Koma.
Moore suffered another setback in August after she and her family were the victim of a hit-and-run driver.

The actress looked more like her usual self at the People’s Choice Awards in 2020
Raging about the incident on social media, she wrote: ‘The the woman who rear ended my family and then drove off and then drove off as we pulled over, hope your karma finds you [sic].’
Reassuring fans who were worried about her and her loved ones’ safety, she added: ‘Thankfully everyone was ok but what kind of human does that?’
Moore first shot to fame as a teen pop star with hits like Candy, So Real, and In My Pocket.
She later transitioned to acting with memorable roles in projects like A Walk To Remember, Southland Tales, License to Wed, and This Is Us.
