The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the man was in his 30s and was the only person in the vehicle.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man died early Wednesday morning after his car ran off a road and struck a tree on Jacksonville’s Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sergeant Robert Hungerford said that at approximately 12:30 a.m., the man was traveling northbound in the 6200 block of Firestone Road when his car, a Toyota Camry, went off the road. The car then struck a “large Oak tree on the east side of the roadway,” Hungerford said.
Members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene and pronounced the man, who was in his 30s, dead, according to Hungerford; he appeared to be the only occupant of the vehicle.
Hungerford told First Coast News the crash marks as the 29th traffic fatality in Duval County for 2025.
