The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office did not release the man’s identity, but the agency said he was in his mid-50s.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at a Jacksonville Walgreens late Monday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sgt. Robert Hungerford said officers were dispatched to the Walgreens, located at 7224 Merrill Rd., at approximately 11:45 p.m. in reference to a report about the man being unresponsive.
The man’s identity was not released, but according to Hungerford, he was in his mid-50s. He was pronounced dead upon arrival from members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, Hungerford said.
“It appears the male was struck by a vehicle which then fled the scene,” Hungerford told First Coast News in a statement.
JSO did not release a description of the vehicle nor a description of the suspect.
This crash marks as the 70th traffic fatality in Duval County for 2025, Hungerford said.
