Father of American captive held by Hamas feels hopeful as truce agreement with Israel is achieved – though unsure if his son will be among initial releases

Adi Alexander, the father of Edan Alexander, 20, praised Wednesday’s cease-fire agreement as a step forward to be reunited with his son after more than 467 days.

“It’s a long time coming. Enough is enough. We’ve been so close before and I’m happy that this time we’ve been able to pass it over the finish line,” Alexander told The Post.

Israel and Hamas have reached a deal to pause fighting for 42 days, allowing them to negotiate the terms of the release of the hostages remaining in Gaza. The initial wave of released hostages would include women, children, men over 50, and those who were wounded and sick.
