BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — A man is dead after a shooting near Bradford High School in Starke on Friday, according to the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office.

Multiple people called 911, including someone inside Auntie Lili’s Child Care Center nearby.

Deputies arrived to find the victim, identified as 37-year-old Christopher Travis Jones, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The suspect in the case is 34-year-old Mindy Michelle Osteen. She was taken into custody at the scene and booked into jail. BCSO says she is being held without bond pending her first court appearance Saturday morning.

Authorities confirmed the two shared children, though it is unclear if they were currently in a relationship.

Osteen has a lengthy criminal record and has previously served time in jail.
