Authorities have arrested a man believed to be a member of the notorious MS-13 gang, who was wanted in connection with the murder of a pastor in El Salvador. The arrest, carried out on Tuesday, was announced by the FBI.
The suspect, identified as Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia, is a Salvadoran national who was residing in the United States. He was wanted under an active arrest warrant from El Salvador for aggravated homicide, specifically for the alleged murder of a pastor. FBI Director Kash Patel shared this information on the social media platform X.
Granados-Garcia was apprehended in Waterbury, Connecticut, as confirmed by FBI New Haven. Their collaboration with the FBI’s Legal Attaché office in San Salvador was crucial in identifying him as a fugitive.
FBI New Haven further detailed the case, noting that Granados-Garcia was under an Interpol Blue Notice, which is used to collect additional information about a person’s identity or activities in relation to a crime. The pastor he is accused of murdering was reportedly related to a police officer in El Salvador.
“Granados-Garcia was wanted for the murder of a pastor, who was a relative of an El Salvadorian police officer,” the agency added.
He was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement after he was arrested by the FBI “to facilitate his return to El Salvador to be held accountable for his crimes,” the agency said.

“MS-13 members are notorious for their brutality, violence, and intimidation,” FBI New Haven Special Agent in Charge P.J. O’Brien said in a statement.
“No matter how committed they are to creating chaos in our communities, the FBI and our law enforcement partners remain steadfast in our commitment to relentlessly pursue members and associates of MS-13 and obtain justice for the victims of their crimes,” he continued.
