DENVER (KDVR) — A man is wanted for allegedly robbing multiple banks along the Front Range.
The FBI said in a release Friday that the suspect appears to be new to bank robbing, and has thus been dubbed the “Fledgling Bandit.”
The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force and Denver Metro Crime Stoppers are asking the public for help identifying the suspect, described as a white or Hispanic man in his 30s, around 5′ 6″-5’8″ and weighing 180 pounds.
The FBI said his hair might be brown, cut in a fade style and he may be wearing a stud earring.
According to the FBI, he is believed to be responsible for the following bank robberies:
- Dec. 11, 2023, at 1:20 p.m., Chase Bank, 10404 Colorado Blvd., Thornton
- Dec. 18, 2023, at 4:30 p.m., Blue Credit Union, 6460 E. Yale Ave., Denver
- Jan. 24, at 4:55 p.m., Wells Fargo Bank, 1960 28th St., Boulder
- Jan. 25, at 4:45 p.m., Chase Bank, 8501 E. Arapahoe Rd., Greenwood Village
The suspect allegedly wrote demand notes and verbally demanded money at each of those banks before fleeing on foot, Crime Stoppers said.
The FBI is asking the public to be on the lookout for anyone matching his description.
“Be aware of anyone similar who might have recently changed their spending habits or discussed coming into money suddenly,” the FBI said in a release.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact the FBI at 303-629-7171 or remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for help in the case.
