FBI Investigates Potential Internet Disruption Linked to Nancy Guthrie Case

The FBI has launched an investigation into a potential internet disruption coinciding with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie in Arizona. Neighbors had reported unusual interruptions in their internet service around the time Guthrie went missing.

One resident mentioned that their Ring security camera footage was inexplicably “unavailable” on the night of Guthrie’s disappearance. Other locals confirmed to authorities that the FBI had questioned them concerning similar internet outages in their Tucson neighborhood on February 1.

Authorities are also probing into the presence of a device that appeared to be an antenna in the pocket of an individual caught on Guthrie’s doorbell camera. This has raised suspicions that it might have been used as a signal jammer, potentially leading to the service disruptions in the area.

On Thursday, FBI agents were observed conducting a search at the home just west of Guthrie’s residence. This forms part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, as the search enters its second month.

An antenna-like device seen in the pocket of the person whose image was captured by Guthrie’s doorbell camera has prompted questions about whether it was a signal jammer, which could have caused a service outage in the area.

On Thursday, FBI agents were seen investigating the home directly west of Guthrie’s as the search for the missing 84-year-old mother of “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie entered its second month.

Guthrie was reported missing Feb. 1, and authorities believe she was abducted from her home in the late night or early morning hours. Although multiple ransom notes have been reported, Guthrie has still not been located.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told NBC News investigators are “definitely closer” to tracking down a suspect, or suspects, in the case.

Four detectives and a sergeant from the local sheriff’s office have been assigned to an FBI task force investigating her disappearance and will be stationed at the FBI’s Tucson office.

Nanos said there are still several key subjects investigators have not been able to identify. That includes a vehicle seen on a Ring camera video about 2.5 miles from Guthrie’s home around 2 a.m. the night she disappeared. Nanos said investigators are reviewing it along with “hundreds of thousands of vehicles” that were on the road at the time.
