A man believed to be a member of the notorious MS-13 gang, and wanted in connection with the murder of a pastor in El Salvador, was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, as confirmed by the FBI.
Identified as Danny Antonio Granados-Garcia, the suspect, a national of El Salvador, was residing in the United States despite being pursued by Salvadoran authorities on charges of aggravated homicide. He was wanted for the alleged killing of a pastor, according to a statement from FBI Director Kash Patel shared on the social media platform X.
The arrest took place in Waterbury, Connecticut, where local law enforcement, in collaboration with the FBI, detained Granados-Garcia. His capture was facilitated by the coordination between the FBI’s New Haven office and the FBI LEGAT in San Salvador.

The FBI’s New Haven division noted that Granados-Garcia had been flagged as a fugitive thanks to an active arrest warrant issued in El Salvador. Additionally, an Interpol Blue Notice had been circulated to assist in his apprehension for the serious charge of aggravated homicide.
“With the assistance of FBI LEGAT San Salvador, Granados-Garcia was identified as a fugitive with an active El Salvadorian arrest warrant and @Interpol_HQ Blue Notice for aggravated homicide,” FBI New Haven wrote.
“Granados-Garcia was wanted for the murder of a pastor, who was a relative of an El Salvadorian police officer,” the agency added.
