A man accused of throwing a sandwich at a federal agent in DC has been charged with a felony as the White House pledges to ‘restore law and order’ in the nation’s capital.

Sean Charles Dunn, who was filmed as he allegedly berated and attacked an officer with his Subway order on August 10.

Straightforward US Attorney Jeanine Pirro lambasted the suspect in a heated video shared on Tuesday, condemning crime and informing culprits that their period of chaos is finished.

‘He thought it was funny,’ Pirro said of Dunn.

‘Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today cause we charged him with a felony – assault on a police officer.’

In the astonishing video recorded by an onlooker, Dunn was reportedly heard yelling at a group of US Border Patrol agents, referring to them as ‘f*cking fascists.’

With his weapon of choice – his dinner – by his side, he shouted ‘shame’ as he pointed at the group of feds.

The heated encounter occurred just outside the popular franchise where Dunn purchased the incriminating sandwich.

After several moments of going ballistic from across the road, the culprit approaches the agents and gets in the face of Agent Gregory Lairmore.

The group of agents remained calm while Dunn became increasingly agitated as he stood within feet of one of the officers’ faces.

The sandwich hurler then took his footlong and forcefully threw it at Lairmore’s chest before attempting to sprint away.

But his getaway was a failure. The agents immediately trailed the suspect and cuffed him shortly after his violent outburst.

Dunn was arrested and processed at the Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District.

He allegedly told an officer: ‘I did it. I threw a sandwich.’

‘We’re gonna back the police to the hill,’ Pirro asserted in her video announcement.

‘So there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else!’

Dunn was arrested during a sweeping crime crackdown initiated by the Trump administration.

‘We will rebuild our once-great cities, including our capital in Washington, DC, making them safe, clean, and beautiful again – and we want to make this city again safe,’ Trump said in January.

‘We don’t want people coming to Washington and getting mugged, shot, killed. We’re going to stop it.’

Trump has claimed DC has a ‘rampant crime crisis’ and referred to the area as a ‘nightmare of murder and crime.’

On Sunday, Trump warned on Truth Social: ‘MR. NICE GUY.” We want our Capital BACK.’

Trump has spoken extensively about his plans in DC on social media

He denounced homelessness on the streets and said FBI agents will work alongside DC police to tackle the issue, according to a post made earlier in the day.

‘The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital,’ Trump posted on Truth Social.

‘The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.’

Photos taken late that night show several federal authorities working in coordination with one another, including the FBI, CBP and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

The following day, he declared he was federalizing local police under section 740 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act.

This act allows the president to take emergency control of DC’s police for a month.

Law enforcement officials told Fox News that at least 103 people have been arrested in DC since August 7.

‘President Trump’s bold leadership is quickly making our nation’s capital safer,’ White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told the outlet.

There were about 30 National Guard troops in the area on Tuesday evening.

The White House told Fox that 23 illegal immigrants were arrested on Tuesday, along with 33 people suspected of firearm offenses.

A homicide suspect was arrested, as well as seven people facing charges related to narcotics. Ten arrests were of people who had warrants out for them.

Authorities also recovered 24 firearms that night.

The White House said Tuesday night’s sweep included 1,450 law enforcement agents, including the National Guard troops and 750 uniformed DC cops.

This war on crime operation is going to soon involve agents and officers patrolling DC all day and night, Fox reported.

While Trump is adamant about a crime influx in DC, local officials disagree.

But during a Sunday interview, the Democratic mayor of Washington, DC, Muriel Bowser, insisted the capital was ‘not experiencing a crime spike.’

DC Mayor Muriel Bowser called the city’s violent crime rate the lowest in 30 years and said Trump is ‘very aware’ of the capital’s progress after a recent Oval Office meeting

‘It is true that we had a terrible spike in crime in 2023, but this is not 2023,’ Bowser said on MSNBC’s The Weekend.

Bowser said she believed the president was exaggerating the need for troops to be deployed onto city streets – mainly because the District is not experiencing the crime spike he suggests.

According to recent data from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in 2024, the homicide rate in DC was 27.3 per 100,000.

This was a drop from 2023, when the rate was 39.4 per 100,000 people.

Department of Justice data suggests that in 2024, there were 187 homicides compared to 274 the previous year.
