EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) Five people were injured after an explosion at the Sun Metro Transit Operations Center on Tuesday, Feb. 11 in East El Paso, El Paso Fire Department Deputy Chief Robert Arvizu said.
Arvizu said the explosion happened just after 1 p.m. at an indoor maintenance area at the Sun Metro Operations Center at 10151 Montana Ave.
A total of five people were injured. However, four people were transported to a local hospital. Three people suffered minor injuries and one person suffered serious injuries, fire officials said. One person refused transport.
Arvizu said the fire is now under control and crews are working to put out hotspots at the center. The roof and walls of the maintenance area collapsed, Arvizu said.
