BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department has apprehended five individuals linked to a shooting incident that took place on Thursday evening along the 3200 block of Aspen Avenue.
The BPD reported that the event unfolded at approximately 7:50 p.m., resulting in injuries to three people, among them a teenage boy. Two victims were discovered at the location, while a third was transported to a hospital via a private vehicle.
On the same day as the incident, officers from the West Precinct successfully detained the suspects.
Those arrested have been identified as 19-year-old Kameron Levert, 18-year-old Cameron Arnold, 19-year-old Lequent Mack, 19-year-old Cordaryl Strother, and a 16-year-old male juvenile. The charges they face include two counts of first-degree assault, firing a weapon into an occupied building, and three counts of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle.
The police have indicated that further charges are expected. The suspects are set to be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
